Komori relentlessly drives the evolution of print technology. Now in the pursuit of print perfection comes the ultimate printing press for production and management efficiency. The 38" System G38 Double-sided Off¬set Printing Press features the H-UV curing system that enables high-quality printing on sheetfed presses. A maximum printing speed of 30,000 sph yet a total length of just 20 meters. Reel-to-sheet printing means this press is ideal for short to medium runs.
The development concept of the System G38 is the combination of sheetfed print quality technologies and web offset productivity. A web press that can be handled like a sheetfed.
Configured with the in-line H-UV curing system, H-UV realizes printing with high-speed instant curing by the combination of Komori’s original H-UV lamp and K-Supply ink. The H-UV unit houses two H-UV lamps that cure the front and back sides instantly.
Plate register is set by the in-line automatic plate adjustment system, and cutoff control and the web guide are automatically controlled by the high precision presets of KHS-AI.

1. Density monitoring camera
This in-line colour control system PQA-W uses a CCD camera to acquire high-precision images. Colour data captured by RGB is converted to density values by our software. By using this density data to automatically control the ink keys, high-quality density control is achieved immediately after machine start-up.
KHS-AI start-up to targeted density rapidly, and PQA-W maintains this density during a run. KID display a wide variety of information about print monitoring, print images, PDC-SX, PQA-W, etc. PQA-W displays the measured data of the inline colour control, that is, the density status during printing.
In addition to density, G38 also automatically adjust the register, cut off, and paper width positions, allowing you to display the four types of trend information at the same time. This information serves as criteria for the OK sheet and can be a great support for crews to operate the high-speed printing press.
2. Register monitoring camera
This is Closed-loop automatic register controller with a uniquely designed area array sensor that reads up to 0.36mm register marks at speeds up to 17.8m/sec (3500 ft/min).
It combines the flexibility and unmatched plate register functions required to meet the requirements of the most demanding printing presses. We have adopted a new camera technology that is highly adaptable and virtually maintenance-free.
From the start of printing, the printer run the paper with a minimum number of sheets, reducing loss and improving productivity. Hardware has also been updated to achieve compactness and power saving.
3. Web guide
The high-precision CCD sensor is used to control the paper position in the lateral direction. Komori's unique AI LINK function controls not only the lateral paper position at the outlet of the web guide but also the reduction of the wrinkle by feeding back the twisted paper amount to the Splicer. Additionally, the entire paper position between splicer and folder is controlled by cascading just before the folder, which allows you to reduce make-ready time and waste.
4. Cutoff monitoring camera
Komori cut-off controller automatically controls the cutting position. The digital image data loaded through PCC, and KHS-AI is analyzed to find out the contrast in the image to preset the optimum target. This function automatically finds the cutting position during start-up and maintains the position to reduce the number of wasted paper and to support the operator with less touch on the operating screen.
