Perfect score at the Komori Perfect Print Days!

19 June 2014

The Komori Perfect Print Days, devoted to the Komori print quality assessment systems and organized on the 17th and 18th of June in the Utrecht Komori Graphic Technology Centre, were a real success since they gathered more than 100 visitors from all over Europe in this world cup period.

All attendants were impressed by the Komori print quality control systems and namely the PQA-S, the in-line print quality assessment system for sheetfed presses, that was demonstrated on a conventional 8-colour perfecting Lithrone G-840P.

This system, calibrated by the Komori PDC-SX spectral print density controller so that densities are continuously measured in-line for instant feedback to the press, is part of the global Komori waste reduction system and fully integrated. It indeed inspects every sheet, compares it to a master and, when an error occurs, alarms and reports it.

Thanks to the optimized image control provided by high-resolution CCD cameras and a LED light source, the colour bar image is converted to density values by means of an RGB-to-CMYK conversion table and any print defect or error is detected. The PQA-S therefore offers his essential functions: colour correction and detection of defects such as sheet imperfections, doubling, water and oil marks, scratches, hickeys, tears or folds, scumming and toning, to guarantee a flawless print.

Demonstrations of the five-colour Lithrone S-529 equipped with in-line coater and H-UV drying system were also proposed to the European customers and prospects interested in H-UV, the Komori unique and revolutionary instant drying technology worldwide appraised for its outstanding performance, environmental benefits and print quality results and now also available on Komori web presses.

Visitors showed great interest for the presentations delivered by the Komori representatives on the wide range of Komori products: sheetfed and webfed offset presses, toner-base and inkjet digital presses, packaging and currency printing systems, as well as gravure offset presses printing electronic devices and nanographic printing presses developed in partnership with Landa Group. They were also very receptive to the speech of Kodak, a historical partner of Komori International, who enlightened the outstanding economical and environmental benefits of their process free Sonora XP plate.

So the Komori Perfect Print Days were really perfect days for the Komori family!
